Marc Nudelberg: A Coach for All Seasons

Tedx Speaker Marc Nudelberg on success, failure, fatherhood, career and life lessons for us all

Marc Nudelberg

Moments after our first meeting and the recording of The Paige Kornblue Show, Marc Nudelberg called me the sister he didn’t know he had.

I now call him the coach I didn’t know I needed.

And I’m pretty sure you will too after you get to know Boca Raton’s Marc Nudelberg, a true coach for all seasons.

And reasons.

You might have heard him speak at TedxBocaRaton last May. He detailed his 4-step process for capitalizing on the opportunity that failure provides and explained how best to turn our failures into fuel

Perhaps you remember him from the sidelines coaching at the University of Florida, Florida State University, the University of Cincinnati, University of Nevada or Lafayette College. For over a decade, Nudelberg was a Division I football coach holding several titles including special teams coordinator, offensive assistant and tight ends coach until he called a reverse, or a major audible as he pointed out - transitioning from an athletic career to a business one.

“It wasn't what I wanted anymore. I was fortunate that I worked with a lot of unbelievable coaches and a lot of terrible coaches. I saw the highs and lows of the profession in a very short amount of time” says Nudelberg.

“I knew exactly what the road was going to be for the next 10, 20, 30, maybe 40 years. And as I looked at that sacrifice, I questioned whether it was really what I wanted.

And for me, understanding what high performance takes and understanding what real success takes and the devotion to it… I knew if I was questioning it, I didn't want it. It was a real moment of self reflection and self awareness to say, it's okay to change direction now,” adds Nudelberg.

And that’s just what he did. He changed direction but in a familiar space, joining the family business led by his dad, Steve Nudelberg. Together and with brother Jake, the Nudelbergs reshaped the business into what is now On the Ball Coaching + Training + Speaking. The On the Ball team helps build and develop groups, companies and individuals personally and on the business and leadership side.

“If you're not Investing in yourself, then it's impossible for you to be the best version of you for all of the people around you. You might be good for everybody and you're going to continue to give and give and give to everybody. But if you're not doing anything to help yourself grow and to refill your tank, you're eventually going to either plateau or you're eventually going to run out of gas. If you really love everybody and you really want to be the giver you want to be for everybody around you, then you have to make it a priority to fill your tank,” says Nudelberg.

Always a coach and trainer, Nudelberg delves into the intricacies of success and the invaluable lessons we learn from both triumph and challenges.

“If you can define success as feeling fulfilled, loving what you are doing and being passionate about what you are doing, working in alignment with who you are, that to me is success. It doesn't mean it's all easy. It doesn't mean that it all feels good all the time,” says Nudelberg.

In episode 60 of The Paige Kornblue Show, Nudelberg shares insights on success and failure, navigating the twists and turns of life, fatherhood, divorce and so many of our career and life journeys. Check in with the Nudelberg team on the “Nudelberg Daily Huddle” at 8am Mondays through Fridays via YouTube and LinkedIn. The daily live stream covers a wide range of topics and ideas inclduing business development, leadership, headlines and sports as the Nudelberg team provides daily mental conditioning for all of us to get 1% better.

Now that’s a team I want to be a part of… with the coach I didn’t know I needed.
