Former Florida Gators QB Tim Tebow Inspires

There wasn’t an empty seat in the stadium and the crowd went wild. 

Well, maybe it wasn’t a stadium - it was a banquet room - but the crowd still went wild for Tim Tebow.

Hundreds of people filled the seats of the Naples Grand Beach Resort on January 17 for the Southwest Florida Fellowship of Christian Athletes 15th annual Celebration Dinner Gala to hear Tim Tebow speak and inspire.

Tebow explained how religion plays such a huge role in his life and stressed the impact coaches have on players of all ages and stages.

Event guests had the opportunity to meet and greet several other sport celebrities including former LSU coach Les Miles, former Vikings and Ravens offensive lineman Matt Birk and Corey Lynch who was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2008. Lynch was the Appalachian State safety that blocked Jason Gingel’s field goal attempt against No. 5 Michigan in 2007 in the closing seconds to seal the upset for Appalachian State (grrr, say Wolverines like me!).

It’s safe to say Tebow is hoping crowds across America go wild in a more subtle but still enthusiastic way this Friday, February 11th to support Night to Shine, a worldwide event sponsored by the Tim Tebow Foundation.

Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom experience for people with special needs ages 14 and older. Local churches will host drive-through parades and virtual celebrations rather than an in-person prom parties this year due to COVID-19.

Volunteers are still needed at many local churches to help with the virtual events and to serve as ‘paparazzi.’ The paparazzi volunteers cheer on the Night to Shine guests as they drive by creating a red carpet feel.
