Legendary athletes help celebrate YMCA’s 50th Anniversary

As the YMCA of South Palm Beach County celebrates its 50th Anniversary, let’s pause for a moment, mid-play against one of the tallest men in the world (at least in my world!), basketball legend Bill Walton and one of the greatest football players of our time, former Heisman and Super Bowl MVP Trophy winner, ESPN’s Desmond Howard, and think about what our communities gain from the YMCA.

Hundreds gathered at The Boca Raton December 3rd, 2022 to honor the YMCA of South Palm Beach County’s past, celebrate its present and inspire its future. The organization honored Peter and Mary Blum, Eugene* and Christine Lynn, Countess Henrietta de Hoernle*, Richard and Helen Devos*, Melvin and Charlotte Weaver* and William Ziff, Jr*.

Musicians from the Lynn Conservatory Band, The Gypsy Lane Band and the Y Leaders Club entertained the crowd during an elegant dinner in the Grand Ballroom of The Boca Raton’s Mizner Center.
