Remembering Her Light: A Tribute to Mom

A TRIBUTE TO MOM

and Healing Words of Love and Loss

It was just two simple words.

“Thank you,” my daughter whispered.

In the middle of the night, in the middle of the worst tummy bug she’s had in her ten years of life, she softly whispered those words to me.

That moment this summer brought me right back to a moment with my mom and words she said to me deep in the throws of her cancer fight.

I was driving her to the hospital for a procedure and she didn’t feel good at all. She could hardly sit up in the passenger seat. But at the light at Glades and 13th Street, she turned to me and said “Thank you. I love you so much.”

Mom passed away a few weeks later... maybe it was days. Whenever it was, she passed 5 years ago today.

Gratitude and love.

Parent and child.

Words and memories.

Say what you feel when you feel it.

It will come back to you in so many ways.

EpS. 55 “Remembering Her Light: A Tribute to Mom and Healing Words of Love and Loss”

In this podcast episode, I share with you the words I delivered at my mom’s Celebration of Life. It was August of 2020 after her hard-fought battle with colon cancer. It takes grace, strength, and vulnerability to sit down and write a eulogy in honor of someone we love and have lost. This episode stands as a tribute not only to a remarkable mom but also as a guide for those who seek solace, inspiration, and guidance in the art of crafting and delivering a eulogy. Gather memories and stories, capture their essence and celebrate their life - in words and later, in life.

If you knew my mom, I hope this episode brings you great ABK memories. If you have lost someone and have to write a eulogy, I hope it inspires you. If you’ve lost someone and time has passed like it has for me, I hope it brings you strength and a smile… we are all in this together.
