The Bahamas Just Got a Whole Lot Closer
From South Florida to the Bahamas, just like that.
Let's not spend more time in airports than we do in the air.
I've flown with Tradewind Aviation, and once you do, going back to commercial feels almost impossible. Think private terminal, two pilots, leather seats, a pressurized cabin, complimentary snacks and absolutely none of the chaos. It's the kind of travel experience that starts before you even take off.
Tradewind just made island hopping even easier for South Florida travelers. They've expanded their Bahamas routes with new service out of Fort Lauderdale to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera. These are two destinations I know well, including stays at The Cove and The Abaco Club that reminded me what it feels like to truly slow down. Also, a brand new route from Stuart to Nassau has launched, with fares starting at $229 one way.
I covered Tradewind Aviation's South Florida expansion and traveled with Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer David Zipkin and what struck me most was how personal the whole experience feels. As Zipkin told me, one longtime client calls it her magic carpet ride. Show up and you're there. And that's exactly how it feels.
“Our extended schedule, new routes from Fort Lauderdale, and introduction of service to Nassau are in direct response to the strong, growing demand we’ve seen for convenient, comfortable, and personalized service to the Bahamas,” said Zipkin. “We’re thrilled to enhance access to these sought-after destinations and provide our guests with more flexible options year-round.”
Departures from Tradewind’s newest South Florida presence, Fort Lauderdale, depart from the Sheltair FBO at Hollywood International Airport, and takeoff to the Out Islands of the Bahamas. This schedule offers flights to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera daily in season. Fares start at $249 one-way.
Scheduled service from Stuart continues to connect travelers to Marsh Harbour and North Eleuthera through the winter months, Thursday through Monday each week, with fares starting at $229 one-way.
There's something to be said for arriving somewhere without the usual travel headache. No terminals, no delays, no middle seats. Just a small plane, a short flight, and suddenly… you're there. Present. On island time. That's what keeps people coming back to Tradewind. Me for sure.
