Join me in opening up a treasured cookbook… the one my mom used time and time again. She has passed away, but memories with her in the kitchen and her delicious recipes remain so I thought I’d take a stab at cooking some of them! Wish me luck…and hope you enjoy them too!

Flank Steak Marinade

Mom got this one from the Junior League of Boca Raton’s Savor the Moment cookbook, a James Beard Foundation/KitchenAid Book Award Winner!

• Process 1/4 cup vegetable oil, 1/4 cup soy sauce, 1 1/2 tablespoons, chopped ginger root, 3 chopped garlic cloves, 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar, 3 onion slices and 6 tablespoons honey in a blender until smooth.

• Marinade in a deep dish for 2 hours or longer

• Grill or broil in the oven on high (5-6 minutes on each side)
